Privacy Policy

Taskly ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with Republic Act No. 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012 of the Philippines, and its Implementing Rules and Regulations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Taskly platform.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Account Information: name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and password when you register
  • Identity Verification: government-issued ID and NBI clearance for tasker verification
  • Payment Information: payment method details processed through PayMongo; payout details (GCash number or bank account) for tasker payouts
  • Location Data: address information for tasks, and real-time location during active bookings (with your consent)
  • Usage Data: device information, browser type, IP address, pages visited, and interactions with the Platform
  • Communications: messages exchanged between clients and taskers through the Platform, and support correspondence

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Match clients with taskers and facilitate bookings
  • Process payments and payouts
  • Verify tasker identity and qualifications
  • Send booking confirmations, status updates, and notifications
  • Provide customer support and resolve disputes
  • Improve the Platform through analytics and research
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the following trusted third parties for the purposes described:

  • PayMongo: payment processing, authorization, and payout settlement
  • Semaphore: SMS notifications for booking updates and account verification
  • Google Maps: location services for task addresses and tasker navigation
  • Other Users: limited profile information (name, rating, profile photo) is shared between clients and taskers as necessary to facilitate bookings
  • Legal Authorities: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. After account deletion, we retain certain data for up to five (5) years as required by Philippine tax, accounting, and legal obligations. Anonymous, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.

5. Your Rights Under the Data Privacy Act

Under Republic Act No. 10173, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
  • Right to Erasure: request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Right to Object: object to the processing of your personal data for marketing or other purposes not essential to the service
  • Right to Data Portability: receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format
  • Right to File a Complaint: lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission if you believe your data rights have been violated

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with the Platform. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect Platform functionality.

7. Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
  • Secure authentication and access controls
  • Regular security assessments and monitoring
  • Employee access limited to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis

While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Taskly platform is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Platform or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
